After the first week of school as an elementary school counselor- I want my mommy, Too!!! Kindergarten did well their first day on Monday. But the rest of the week had crying 1st or 3rd graders who wanted their moms. Friday I had a 1st grade boy that threw a kicking the walls and doors, yelling and screaming, banging chairs against the table for over 30 minutes wall-eyed FIT. We had quite the time of it!! Finally got him settled down, then he decided he had a stomach ache and wanted to call his mom to come and get him. Smart little bugger> He ended the day in class playing with friends. All went well, overall. The staff is so excited to have a counselor their full time, they clapped when I was introduced! There are 510 student K-5 and 67 staff. So lots of new names and faces to learn. Guess I'll go back and see what happens this week. THis is a picture of my office. Looks great. Sounds like week one was fun. I threw the same kind of fit when we got to Peru, but luckily Kristy was able to calm me down. I think if I was in elementary school I would be bad just so I could hang out in your office.
I really love how your office looks. It is really bright and welcoming. You are amazing at paying attention to the details. I am sure this makes your office very welcoming to the students.
