For the past week I have been in Phoenix helping with Emma and Chloe as Stacy was confined to bedrest- except for bathing and showers. She was allowed to sit up. Lucky us we found a wheelchair on Craig's list for only $25- in superb condition. I call is the red chariot-Stacy calls it the beast. She's quite embarrassed to ride in it but it allows her to freedom to go outside with the girls, to the mall, etc. She refused to let me take a picture....
Yesterday, Tuesday, Stacy went to her long awaited Dr.s appt to see if the confinement was helping. She didn't come home. They put her back in the hospital for monitoring until at least Saturday. As Jeremy explained it her uterus is collapsing in the center and putting pressure on the cervix causing it to shorten. Too much pressure could cause the cervix to fail and birth to occur. The Dr.s really want to get the baby to at least 28 weeks ( currently 26 wks) because then she has a 80-90% change of survival.
The shortened cervix is the only confirmed sign of eminent birth that the dt'rs have. They have performed a test for fetalfibernectin (sp?) a chemical that indicates that birth will occur in the next 2 weeks (15% chance). This test can only be performed every 2 weeks. Last time it was negative. They are repeating the test on Fri/Sat to see if any change has occurred. After evaluating the test they will determine if Stacy can return home. Because the next 2 weeks are so crucial in not delivering the baby, they want Stacy as close as possible to the hospital (in it) so that if anything happens , they have the best chance of helping the baby.
Today Chloe wanted to go find her mommy. She really wanted her mommy to come home with her. She wasn't as upset this week as last week when Stacy was in the hospital. So hopefull Stacy will get to come home again. Even every other week would be beeter than all hospital! Keep us in your prayers.

We are praying every day that things will be okay for Stacy and the baby. I am sure that the girls are happy to have their grandma around...especially if their mom can't be home.
We hope everything is o.k. and are praying for the best with Stacy and the pregnancy.
