Here's the 1st stop on our trip at Independence Rock. Yo can see the Sweetwater River to the left and Devil's Gate in the far background. Grady even picked me some squaw berries. [They are kind of bitter and sour!] We even found the name Walker carved in the north side of the rock. I did a little geneology on pioneer ancestors and found that John Beauchamp Walker was a wagon train captain in 1852 and since all trains stopped here maybe that's him!....
